A Higher Standard
Investment Counsel Since 1937 For seven decades, Wentworth, Hauser and Violich has provided investment management services to individuals, institutions, brokers and financial advisors with a consistent record of strong risk-adjusted performance. We currently manage approximately $11.3 billion in assets.
WHV began in 1937 with a focus on investment counseling to individuals. Founding partner, William Wentworth's vision established our tradition of personalized client service and commitment to high quality equity and fixed income investment strategies. In 1945, we began managing our first tax-exempt institutional account and in 1966 Kurt Hauser and Paul Violich left Brundage, Story and Rose in New York to join the firm in San Francisco. In 1975 the firm changed its name, becoming known as Wentworth, Hauser and Violich.
Seventy years later WHV's professionals remain committed to the principles of the firms' founding partner, offering high quality investment management and exceptional client service. Each client has a primary portfolio manager, backed by a seasoned team of investment professionals. Someone who is familiar with the account is always available to answer questions or respond to a client's requests. The professionals on each client team are well qualified, highly experienced, and enjoy working together to achieve our clients' investment objectives. Professional staff turnover is low, giving clients steady management that remains focused on long-term performance.
